Draft Budget 2025 to 2026 | GOV.WALES
Key points to note include:
- They say that they "continue to support the payment of the Real Living Wage for care workers" but no funding is ring-fenced for this.
- Local Authority budgets are being increased £253m a 4.3% increase. The Real Living Wage has increased by 5%. However, due to national insurance increases and other cost pressures, our minimum price for homecare for Wales has increased 10.9%.
- £140m is provided to maintain social care grants in the health and social care budget.
- £5m is available to support local authorities following the Welsh Government's decision not to increase the £100 per week maximum that individuals can be asked to contribute towards their care. The Welsh Government will act to ensure that there is a consistent approach to charging people for their care across Wales.
