Workforce shortages are the biggest challenge facing social care in the UK.

The University of Leeds is holding an interactive event to explore how we can ensure a sustainable social care workforce for the future. This will be taking place on Wednesday 20 November in Leeds, and online, from 3 - 6.30 pm. 

Alison Holt, the BBC’s Social Affairs Editor, will chair an expert panel, consisting of:

  • Melanie Weatherley Co-Chair, Care Association Alliance
  • Neil Eastwood, Founder and CEO, Care Friends
  • Oonagh Smyth, Chief Executive, Skills for Care
  • Karen Spilsbury, Professor of Nursing and Academic Director, NICHE-Leeds (Nurturing Innovation in Care Home Excellence)
  • Peter Hodkinson, Managing Director of Westward Care and Chair of Leeds Care Association
