The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Wes Streeting, highlighted the links between the health and social care sector and the Government's intention to secure economic growth. He notes that good health is important to get people back to work after illness, the value of research in the sector and the employment opportunities offered by health and social services as 'anchor institutions' in their local areas.
