By 2027 the national phone system will have switched over from analogue to digital. This could have an impact on services for the 2 million adults who use telecare services. The Department of Health and Social Care has worked with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology to produce a Telecare National Action  Plan. The Plan aims to identify telecare users and check that their service is compatible before they are switched over.

Whilst much of the switchover work will be led by telecare providers and telecoms companies, the digital switchover could also be relevant to social care providers. You can find out more about how it might affect you as a provider via the Digital Care Hub:
