Last year the Government set out their plans to ‘fix social care’. But their plans will
not, now or in the future:

• Cut the wait for millions needing social care
• Address the shortage of care workers
• Provide enough help for unpaid carers

We’re coming together with others to highlight the need for policymakers to take further action to support social care. In England, vacancy rates in homecare have risen to 13.4%. Half a million people are waiting for assessments or care. Meanwhile, by the minute commissioning and the use of 15 minute visits persists, with adverse impact on those receiving care. The Fair Cost of Care exercises are not adequately funded. Petrol prices are soaring without additional funding to keep us on the move and get to people who need support.
