SCIE and Policy Connect launch CareTech Charter
The Social Care Institute for Excellence and Policy Connect has launched a CareTech Charter across the political party conferences which highlights that digital technology creates value in the quality of people’s lives and in the productivity of care organisations. Built through discussions at last year's conferences, the Charter outlines recommendations for embedding digital technology into local and national infrastructure and how Councillors and Parliamentarians can realise a cross-party vision.
Still time to apply for digital funding
The Digital Care Hub is reminding providers to apply for digital funding. Those who are still using paper care records, and who are a CQC registered care provider, can apply for funding to help transfer to a digital social care record. Applications for funding need to be made in the next few months, so contact your integrated care system to apply for funding before it’s too late.
Care providers - survey on the cyber security support
The Care Provider Alliance (CPA) and Better Security, Better Care are asking social care providers in England to answer a survey about how they currently protect information, what they consider to be the future challenges, and what advice and support could help them.
Guidance for new providers on data protection and cyber security
The Better Security, Better Care team has produced a short guide and checklist to help new care providers with information governance, data protection and cyber security.
Help develop data protection eLearning for care leaders
The Institute of Public Care is developing free data protection eLearning materials for social care leaders responsible for data security and protection, to provide more in-depth knowledge. The Institute is seeking testers (for example, Registered Managers and Deputy Managers) from smaller social care organisations to review draft materials and provide feedback via a survey (30 minutes) in September-October. There are optional virtual focus groups on 23 October or 5 November 2024. Please contact [email protected] if you would like to take part.
