Registered managers and enhanced careworkers amongst roles added to the Care Workforce Pathway
The Department of Health and Social Care have added four new roles to the Care Workforce Pathway.
The Pathway was developed in 2023 as a way of showing the career structure in the social care sector setting out the knowledge, skills, values and behaviours required from roles at different levels. Originally, the pathway included four roles:
- new to care
- care or support worker
- supervisor or leader
- practice leader
Four additional roles have now been added:
- enhanced care worker
- personal assistant
- deputy manager
- registered manager
