You may know that following the Autumn Budget 2024, a grassroots campaign movement led by providers has gained momentum – it is known as #ProvidersUnite. The movement is urging the government to fund the social care sector, and reverse the decision made to increase employers' national insurance contributions. These are the same as the Homecare Association’s calls.
On Tuesday 25 February 2025, the movement is hosting a 'Day of Action' in Westminster. The day will consist of a short, peaceful march, a picnic and meetings with local MPs, if organised.
Many of the Homecare Association team will be there, including our Chief Executive, Dr Jane Townson OBE and several members of our board.

Key details
- We will meet at Church House (behind Westminster Abbey) Dean's Yard, London SW1P 3NZ from 10:30 onwards.
- The closest tube stations are St. James's Park (nearest), Westminster, Victoria, or Pimlico.
- The closest train and bus stations are Victoria Station, Victoria St, London SW1E 5ND.
- The peaceful march will start at 11:15am. The route starts at our meeting place (Church House) and ends in Parliament Square Garden. It is only a short march, with a distance of 0.4 miles.
