Skills for Care has issued a Guide to Improvement to help providers recover their rating after falling below CQC standards, which takes into account the Single Assessment Framework.
HSE guidance on slips and trips as nights draw in
The Health and Safety Executive is warning that slips and trips accidents are likely to become more frequent in winter evenings when poor lighting, excess water from rain and wet and decaying leaves can all cause accidents to increase significantly. There is guidance on preventing slips and trips in winter weather and general guidance on slips and trips.
Information on what individuals can do if they are affected by a data breach
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, is warning that a data breach can disrupt lives. A personal data breach is where information that can be used to identify a person has been lost, damaged or disclosed when it shouldn’t have been. For example, a person with HIV may find their medical record has been disclosed due to a data breach. The ICO have created a simple one page poster that sets out people’s options if they’re affected by a data breach. There is also a webpage with more in depth guidance and template letters here.
50,000 Every Story Matters contributions from the public.
The UK Covid-19 Inquiry has reached a major milestone with more than 50,000 people submitting their experiences of life during the pandemic to Every Story Matters. Once stories are submitted they are analysed and compiled into themed reports which are used in the investigation and can inform the Chair’s recommendations alongside evidence from the Inquiry’s hearings and written witness statements.
