Secretary of State commits to first ever men’s health strategy
The Health and Social Care Secretary, Rt Hon Wes Streeting MP, announced plans for a men’s health strategy. The strategy will consider how to prevent and tackle the biggest health problems affecting men of all ages, which could include cardiovascular disease, prostate cancer and testicular cancer, as well as mental health and suicide prevention. It will form a key part of the government’s 10 Year Health Plan to fix the NHS. Click here to read more.
The Home Care Awards 2025
The Awards seek examples of the expertise of companies providing home care in the UK and praise the teams that are making a difference by looking to raise standards. The closing date for entries is 30 November 2024.
Inclusion is now a key condition for funding
The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) launched a new research requirement that all applicants must demonstrate how their research will address existing inequalities in health and social care as a condition of funding. Applicants will now be required to show how inclusion is being built into all stages of the research lifecycle. Read more here.
