Capacity Tracker reporting to include COVID-19 Autumn booster vaccination

COVID Booster (Autumn 2024) questions will be added to the Capacity Tracker provider update page for ASC Care Home and Home Care providers from 2 October 2024, and this will be reflected in the Care Home and Home Care Provider Bulk Update Template. The change relates to the programme to encourage health and social care staff to be vaccinated this winter. Report looks at progress by integrated care systems

The NHS Confederation has published a report, The state of integrated care systems 2023/24: tackling today while building for tomorrow, which focuses on the progress and challenges of Integrated Care Systems in England, discussing their four core purposes, financial challenges, system working, and recommendations for national support.


Managing work-related violence and aggression

The Health and Safety Executive has issued guidance on violence at work to help employers protect their workers, assess risks, put the right controls in place and report and learn from incidents. There is also specific guidance on how to support workers after a violent incident and separate advice for workers, which explains how they can help employers prevent violent incidents at work.

New hardships section added to detailed guidance on DBS checks

DBS checks: detailed guidance has been revised to include a section about hardships. This says: 'An applicant can contact DBS if their application has been in progress for more than 28 days, if they are in financial hardship or their employment is at risk. They will need to provide evidence when doing this. Evidence may include correspondence from an employer stating they must receive your DBS certificate by a certain date, or evidence of your current arrears. Please email [email protected] with your evidence'.
