The impacts of end of life unpaid caregiving

Charity Marie Curie’s research estimates there are 150,000 – 180,000 unpaid end of life household carers, with up to 762,000 in the UK each year. Fifteen percent of unpaid household end of life carers were found to be living in poverty, a number that increased in the year following a bereavement to 47%, and many unpaid end of life carers of working age were struggling to balance their caring and employment responsibilities.

Pre-entry screening is compulsory for those who wish to stay in the UK for over 6 months and are travelling from a country where TB is common. Screening is not required for tourists.
