The Health and Social Care Secretary, Rt Hon Wes Streeting MP, has launched a new Change NHS website, to start a conversation about the long-term future of the NHS.
The website is open for everyone to share views, experiences and ideas to shape a new 10 Year Health Plan for England.
Members of the public and people who work in health and care in England should 'Start Here' to tell the government how the NHS needs to change.
There is a separate questionnaire for people who are contributing as a representative of an organisation: organisation questionnaire.
The Homecare Association urges members to respond to the consultation. We will be responding on behalf of members, so please contribute to our submission by sending your views to [email protected].
The consultation is an early opportunity to share insights as the Government starts an extensive programme of engagement to develop the 10 Year Health Plan.
The Plan, set to be published in spring 2025, will focus on three key shifts: moving care from hospitals to communities, digitising healthcare, and shifting from treating sickness to preventing illness.
Key reforms include the creation of neighbourhood health centres, integrating care under one roof, and the development of a single digital patient record accessible across all NHS services.
The government also aims to prevent illness by promoting the use of wearable health technology for conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure.
For more, see the Department of Health and Social Care press release.
FAQs about the consultation, which is open until 2 December 2024.
There is a partner toolkit to help promote the consultation at: Partner Toolkit | Change NHS | Campaign Resource Centre.
Also, a facility to register an email address when replying to the consultation, to receive information about the 10 Year Health Plan.
