The Department of Health and Social Care has published its annual data and analysis of fees paid to care providers by local authorities, based on returns submitted as part of the Market Sustainability and Improvement Fund.
The report contains the average fees paid by local authorities to external care providers during the 2024 to 2025 financial year, and the extent to which they have increased.
The average hourly rate for England, £24.00, is higher than we found in our Fee rates for state-funded homecare 2024-25 report (£23.21 per hour in England), issued in August 2024.
Hourly fee rates had increased by 6.5% on average, in contrast to our findings of 7.4%.
