JCVI COVID vaccination recommendations for 2025-2026
The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation has recommended that the NHS target the next round of COVID-19 vaccinations at those who are most at risk of serious ill health, hospitalisation and death. This includes:
- adults aged 75 years and over
- residents in a care home for older adults
- individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed

The Committee also recommended that similar eligibility apply for the 2025 autumn and 2026 spring campaigns, subject to cost-effectiveness assessment.
This means that, having assessed risk, the Committee are no longer including younger adults with health conditions and health and social care workers for free vaccinations via this route. We are seeking to understand better if this affects occupational health advice for providers.
