The Care Quality Commission announced last week that the Care Provider Alliance (CPA), chaired by Professor Vic Rayner OBE, will work with Professor Sir Mike Richards on his review of the Single Assessment Framework (SAF) and its implementation. This follows the Independent Review of the CQC by Dr Penny Dash, which identified several specific concerns about the SAF.

The first stage of this review will focus on providers’ operational experiences of the SAF, either in preparation or during inspection.

Managers/ deputy managers/ senior managers/ nominated individuals/ quality/ compliance leads working in a regulated care service are asked to complete the following survey (it will take about 10-15 minutes):

The survey will close at 5pm on Sunday, 20 October.

Please note the survey is designed to be completed at individual service level, to capture your operational experience of the SAF.

The project organisers are asking as many CQC-regulated services as possible to complete the survey, whether or not they have had an inspection under the SAF. There are specific further questions for those services that have had an inspection.

This is an important piece of work, as it will inform the second stage of the project, which will focus on what people want for the future.

We hope you will share your views, so we have strong engagement from the homecare sector.
