Home Instead East Herts and Uttlesford Soars to Success with Charity Skydive
Home Instead Charities is dedicated to enhancing the lives of older adults by providing vital grants for community initiatives that combat loneliness.
The thrilling skydive took place at Chatteris Airfield in Wimblington, with the goal of raising £3,000 for Home Instead Charities. The funds raised will directly support local dementia cafés, day trips, and interactive activities for older adults to enjoy together.
David Bassett, owner of Home Instead East Herts and Uttlesford, commented: “We are overjoyed by the generosity of our supporters and thrilled to have exceeded our fundraising goal. Thank you to all those who have donated, the impact of these funds is profound, providing essential resources that enrich the lives of older adults in our community.”
“While ageing can be a joyful time, many older adults experience profound loneliness. We must address this, and we’re proud to support Home Instead Charities in making a difference.”
The dedicated team members who bravely took the plunge include Sarah, Dawn, Nikki, Tony, Lucy, Leo, Cliff and Chin. Their collective effort highlights the importance of community involvement in tackling loneliness among older adults, a growing issue that significantly affects their physical and mental health.
