Healthwatch has published their annual report. They explain how public stories improved care and how they're working to make the health and social care system people-centred.
In it, they propose implementing the following reforms by 2023:
-
Relaunching the NHS Constitution as a new Patient Promise, with the rights and pledges that matter most to patients.
-
Investing in technology and staff to help patients easily access information and navigate their care.
-
Overhauling the complaints system to make it more timely, responsive, effective and empathetic when people raise concerns about care.
-
Improving NHS culture and accountability by using patient feedback to measure performance and safety.
