The Government has pledged a total of £85 million to support the international community in tackling the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Building on the five-year plan announced earlier this month.

The funding packing commits up to £50 million to continue working with countries’ across Africa as part of the UK Global AMR Innovation Fund. Alongside £25 million to support and strengthen countries and territories in the Caribbean. And a further £10 million over five years to construct a global scientific panel for antimicrobial resistance.

All initiatives are part of the Government's 20-year vision to contain and control AMR by 2040.
