Flu vaccine for over 65s - fish allergy

There is information circulating about a small risk that over 65s with a severe fish allergy may be at risk of an allergic reaction to one of the flu vaccines that contains squalene - a substance that is extracted from refined fish oil. People over 65 who have a fish allergy should discuss this with a health professional and may be offered an alternative vaccine. Further information is available on page 21 of this document.
