The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is asking for feedback on a draft set of ratings characteristics, following the reviews into CQC’s regulatory approach led by Dr Penny Dash and Professor Sir Mike Richards.
This is part of CQC’s engagement with providers as the regulator seeks to make improvements to regulation. CQC say they’ve heard that providers would like more information on what is considered to be good and outstanding care. To support this, CQC is starting a period of engagement to help develop new ratings characteristics that will describe what it would expect to see at different ratings levels.
Providers are asked to share whether they think the draft set of ratings characteristics gives enough information and which areas need more detail.
Closing date 15 November 2024.
