The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is seeking views on a proposed increase to SSSC registration fees.

The plan is for a small increase each year over five years with different rates for the different registrant fee levels.

The proposed increase for a support worker would be £3 per year over five years, rising from the current fee of £25 to £40 in 2029/30. Fees for supervisors would rise from £35 to £55 over the same period, and those for managers from £80 to £120.

The consultation closes on 23 December 2024.

We understand the SSSC will review the consultation outcome at its meeting on 27 February 2025 and its decision will then be taken to Scottish Ministers.

If there is an increase, this is likely to be from 1 April 2025, so fees due on or after that date will be at the new rate.
