Company joins forces with GP surgeries to support community
Home Instead provides specialised care for older people in their own homes, many living with dementia, allowing them to live independently in safe and familiar surroundings where they feel most comfortable.
At present there are over 900,000 people in the UK living with dementia. By offering Key to Care sessions to the community, the company hopes to extend a helping hand to care professionals, family members and any locals who may benefit from a network of support and understanding around the condition.
Home Instead has previously run sessions at The Grove Medical Centre, and will now be at the following locations every month:
- Felixstowe: The Grove Medical Centre, Grove Road, IP11 9GA – the second Wednesday of every month between 10am & 12pm.
- Woodbridge: Framfield House Medical Centre, Ipswich Road, IP12 4FD – the first Tuesday of every month between 10am & 12pm.
- Ipswich: The Two Rivers Medical Centre. 30 Woodbridge Road, IP4 5PB – the third Wednesday of every month between 10am & 12pm.
Commenting on the sessions, General Manager of Home Instead Ipswich, Felixstowe & Woodbridge, Joanna McCall, said, “A big part of what we do at Home Instead is giving back to the community. It’s a real privilege to be able to educate the local area on dementia and offer our support. If you have any questions or feel these sessions will be beneficial, please come along. We’re here to help!”
