Skills for Care (SfC) and the Department of Health and Social Care are developing a new care workforce pathway for adult social care and asking providers to complete a survey on enhanced care worker roles by 19 July.

The care workforce pathway outlines the knowledge, skills, values and behaviours expected in different unregulated roles and career points and provides clear pathways for development and progression across the workforce.

SfC is looking at new role categories to cover deputy managers, registered managers, personal assistants and enhanced care worker roles.

SfC would like feedback on 'enhanced' roles’ including those that provide an ‘enhanced’ level of care to people with a variety of complexity and/or multiple morbidities.

The survey asks whether your setting/organisation currently has these roles and seeks to understand the different roles that enhanced care workers undertake or could undertake, to identify the benefits and challenges as well as learning and development opportunities.

The survey takes around 10 minutes and closes on Friday 19 July, at 23:59.
