Alert level four restrictions now apply in Wales
Alert level four restrictions have been brought forward in Wales, in line with the action taken in London and the South East of England following the rise in a new strain of COVID-19.
The restrictions applied from 00.01 am on 20 December and mean non-essential retail, close contact services, gyms and leisure centres and hospitality are now closed and stay-at-home restrictions have come into effect.
Christmas guidance has been changed, so two households are only allowed to come together to form a Christmas bubble on Christmas Day.
Throughout the alert level four period, a single person household will be able to join with one other household.
