Additional flu vaccines authorised for use in the UK

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has temporarily authorised a flu vaccine used in the USA called Flublok for use in the UK, to help ensure as many people as possible are vaccinated during the pandemic.

DHSC say millions of extra flu vaccines will soon be available. All vaccines, including Flublok, undergo three stages of clinical trials and are assessed by the regulator for safety, effectiveness and quality before they are given to patients.
