A risk-register for state-funded homecare

The stability of the state-funded homecare sector has been the subject of increasing concern for Government, councils, statutory regulators and the national media. The Homecare Association presents a report on the findings of a detailed research project to identify and prioritise the highest risks to the financial failure of provider organisations, or the risk to planned withdrawal from the provider market.

The analysis is based on the views of independent and voluntary sector providers delivering state-funded homecare services across 500 locations across the UK and includes detailed recommendations by the Homecare Association. We encourage statutory sector commissioners to consider these findings carefully, and take action on those areas which may place their own local markets at unacceptable levels of risk.
