This resource guide and training programme has been designed to assist homecare staff to improve their knowledge and skills in food hygiene and nutrition.
About the programme

The Food Hygiene and Nutrition Train the Trainer pack has been developed specifically to enable homecare care staff to be trained to prepare nutritious food for individuals safely, and to understand how to recognise and manage malnutrition or dehydration. The training also covers the knowledge required to ensure safe food handling, preparation and storage, following food hygiene regulations and techniques. The resource is two complete training programs - food hygiene and nutrition.

The pack contains plenty of helpful materials for the trainer including a trainer’s guide, resources, and FAQs. Learners will benefit from learner’s activities, handouts, written exercises, competency tests and other learning materials.

Who the pack is for

This Trainer the Trainer pack is designed for homecare staff who are responsible for training frontline care workers, enabling you to train staff flexibly and cost-effectively, in-house.

The food hygiene and nutrition pack includes a training programme to follow, suitable for first-time learners through to more experienced staff wishing to refresh their knowledge.

The pack is also an ideal reference tool when creating client care plans, as the pack folder can be kept to hand in your place of work as a useful resource whenever needed.
